TempleFront Tours and Travels was founded in 2023. But our family has been organising, guiding, and caring for travellers across Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and beyond for nearly thirty years — with the safety, security, and personal attention you'd give your own family.
Our Story
Mitra Lal Ghimire — our founder and the heart of TempleFront — began his career in tourism in the mid-1990s, at the age of eighteen.
For decades, he worked at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu — the first face many international travellers met when they arrived in Nepal. In that role, he didn't just coordinate transport. He helped tourists plan their entire trips, organised tours, treks and expeditions, ran a hotel for several years, and quietly built one of the most respected hospitality networks in the country.
Over thirty years, he developed personal relationships with guides, drivers, Sherpa teams, hotel owners and travel partners across Nepal, India, Bhutan, Tibet, Malaysia, Dubai and Singapore — the kind of network you cannot build with money or marketing, only with time and trust.
In 2023, we formalised three decades of that work into a registered agency: TempleFront Tours and Travels.
Why We Started the Agency
We had been doing the work for years — quietly, through Mitra Lal Ji's network, helping tourists who met him at the airport or were sent by past guests. What we kept seeing, again and again, was travellers getting the wrong end of the deal from other operators. Overcharged. Rushed through itineraries. Handed off to whichever guide was free that day. Left to figure things out when something went wrong.
We wanted to do this differently.
Every guest who books with TempleFront is treated like a member of our family. That isn't a slogan — it's how we actually work. When a group is large, when a trek is high-risk, or when a traveller simply wants extra reassurance, we send a family member along on the trip to look after them personally. Not a hired escort. Family.
We don't run from problems. If a flight is delayed, if altitude becomes an issue, if weather turns, if anything goes wrong — we are on the phone, on the ground, on the case, until it is sorted.

Founder & Lead Operations
Mitra Lal Ji has spent his entire adult life in Nepal's tourism and hospitality industry — over thirty years. He began at eighteen, served as a senior representative at Tribhuvan International Airport's tourist taxi counter for decades, and has organised tours, treks and expeditions across Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and India long before founding the agency. His network of guides, drivers, Sherpa teams, and hotel partners — built over three decades of personal relationships — is the foundation TempleFront is built on.
Abhiyan Ghimire
Co-Owner — Operations & Digital
Abhiyan is second-generation in the family business. He grew up around the work, has personally led tour groups on the ground as a tour leader, and now handles operations, digital, and guest experience for TempleFront. He's the person you'll usually be talking to on WhatsApp before your trip.

For larger groups, high-risk treks, or any traveller who wants added reassurance, we send a family member along on the trip to look after the group personally.

Where to Find Us
We are currently based in Thamel, Kathmandu — Nepal's main tourist district. Walk-ins are welcome, but most planning happens over WhatsApp before our guests arrive in the country. A permanent office is in the works.
