Important Notes

  • Best season: October–February (snow and clear Himalayan views); March–April for rhododendrons. Cable car may be closed during heavy monsoon rains or severe snowstorms.
  • Fitness: Easy to moderate. The cable car handles most of the ascent; a short walk to the temple at ~3,800 m is required. Take it slowly for altitude.
  • Nepal visa: available on arrival at Kathmandu airport. USD 30 (15 days) / USD 50 (30 days). Bring 2 passport photos and USD cash.
  • Comprehensive travel insurance is recommended for any international trip.
  • Permits: Site entry fees only (included in your package). No trekking permits required.

Frequently Asked

Frequently Asked Questions

Tiger in the foliage
Is this a private tour?

Yes — every TempleFront itinerary is run exclusively for your group. We never combine you with other travellers.

Can the itinerary be customised?

Yes — we can add an extra night at Kalinchowk or combine this with Kathmandu sightseeing for a 3-day version.

Is the cable car operating year-round?

The Kalinchowk cable car generally operates October through May. It may be suspended during heavy monsoon rains or severe winter snowstorms. We confirm operational status before departure and can arrange a hike-only ascent as a backup.

Is this tour suitable for families?

Yes — the cable car makes the ascent accessible for all ages, and the sunrise views are magical for children. For the short walk from the cable car to the temple (~20 minutes), sturdy shoes are recommended. The overnight at Kuri Village is in a comfortable local guesthouse.

Do I need a Nepal visa?

Most nationalities receive a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days. Bring two passport photos and USD cash.

What meals are included?

Breakfast and dinner are included at the guesthouse in Kuri Village. Lunch on Day 2 is on your own account before the drive back.

Is travel insurance required?

Not mandatory but recommended. The tour briefly reaches ~3,800 m — comprehensive cover is sensible.

How do I confirm a booking?

Send us a WhatsApp or email enquiry. We respond same day with a detailed quote. A deposit secures your dates.
