An afternoon drive up to the Nagarkot ridge (2,195 m) for sunset over a Himalayan skyline that, on a clear day, stretches from Dhaulagiri toward Everest.

Sunrise; Bhaktapur; drive to Pokhara via Manakamana
A Himalayan sunrise from Nagarkot, then the medieval city of Bhaktapur with its potters' square, before the drive west to lakeside Pokhara with a stop at the hilltop Manakamana temple.

A full day of wildlife — a jeep or dugout-canoe safari for one-horned rhino, deer and crocodile, the elephant breeding centre, and birdwatching along the Rapti river.

- Best season: October–November (clear mountain views) and March–May. Chitwan wildlife sightings are excellent October–March.
- Fitness: Easy. Driving and sightseeing tour. The Chitwan jungle walk (flat, 2–3 hrs) is the most active portion.
- Nepal visa: available on arrival at Kathmandu airport. USD 30 (15 days) / USD 50 (30 days). Bring 2 passport photos and USD cash.
