- Helicopter approach to Sama Goan reduces approach time significantly.
- Best season: Spring (April–May).
- All oxygen, high-altitude kitchen staff, fixed ropes, and Sherpa support provided.
- Comprehensive travel insurance covering high-altitude climbing and emergency helicopter evacuation is mandatory — submit policy details before departure.

What experience is required?

Why choose Manaslu over other 8,000 m peaks?
Manaslu offers a superb combination of challenge and relative remoteness. The Manaslu Circuit is one of Nepal's most spectacular trekking regions, and the peak itself sees far fewer commercial expeditions than Everest or Annapurna — meaning a quieter BC and a more genuine expedition atmosphere.
What is the helicopter approach to Sama Goan?
Rather than a multi-day approach trek, we fly by helicopter from Kathmandu directly to Sama Goan (3,535 m) — a 90-minute flight across the mountains. This saves 5–7 days of approach trekking and allows for a more gradual acclimatization from the village up toward BC. The helicopter seat is included in your expedition package.
How much supplemental oxygen is provided?
All clients receive supplemental oxygen from Camp 3 (6,800 m) upward. Summit Sherpas also carry oxygen. Precise flow rates and quantities are briefed at base camp.
Is insurance mandatory?
Yes — comprehensive insurance covering high-altitude climbing and emergency helicopter evacuation is mandatory. Submit policy details before departure.
How far in advance should I book?
Manaslu permits for the spring season open approximately 12 months ahead. We recommend contacting us at least 9–12 months before your target season.
