Important Notes
- Helicopter flight subject to weather conditions; same-day rescheduling is possible.
- Best months: March–May and September–November (clearest mountain views).
- Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended.
- Permits: Sagarmatha National Park entry + Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality permit (arranged by TempleFront).
- Although there is no trekking, the Kala Patthar landing reaches 5,545 m within a couple of hours of leaving Kathmandu — the rapid ascent can cause light-headedness, so move slowly and tell your guide of any symptoms. The stop is deliberately kept to 15–20 minutes.
- Dress warmly for the landing — temperatures at Kala Patthar are well below freezing even in season. Bring a down jacket, warm hat, gloves and sunglasses for the minutes spent outside the aircraft.
- Due to altitude weight limits, the group is often shuttled in stages — the helicopter may drop part of the group at Lukla or Pheriche and ferry passengers up to Kala Patthar in turn. This is standard, safe practice for high-altitude landings.
Frequently Asked
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a private flight?
Yes — the helicopter is chartered exclusively for your group. We never share it with other guests.
Is the helicopter flight safe?
Yes — our helicopter is operated by a reputable Kathmandu-based aviation company with an excellent safety record. Mountain helicopter flights are weather-dependent and operated only in safe conditions.
What happens at Kala Patthar?
The helicopter lands at 5,545 m on Kala Patthar, giving you 15–20 minutes on the famous Everest viewpoint. Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse are directly in front of you. The altitude is real — take it slowly, and we recommend carrying altitude sickness tablets as a precaution.
Do I need to be fit for this tour?
This is specifically designed for guests who want Everest views without trekking. No fitness requirement beyond being able to stand and walk short distances. However, the Kala Patthar landing is at 5,545 m — altitude effects are possible, and those with serious heart or lung conditions should consult their doctor.
What if there is bad weather?
The flight is rescheduled to the next available clear morning. We build flexibility into the itinerary for exactly this reason. If weather persists beyond our stay, we refund the helicopter cost.
What meals are included?
Welcome and departure dinners are included at the hotel. Other meals are on your own account at the hotel restaurant or Thamel restaurants — your guide will recommend the best spots.
Is travel insurance required?
Not mandatory but strongly recommended. Ensure your policy covers helicopter operations at altitude and any medical evacuation.
How do I confirm a booking?
Send us a WhatsApp or email enquiry. We respond same day with a detailed quote. A deposit secures your dates.
